

Samantha Goldberg was recently tapped to design a couture line for a product (Extension of Undercover Cover Solution’s Portapocket) which is technically used for safety. While Goldberg’s main focus is more about design and fashion via events, convenience doesn’t usually fit in this category. Goldberg mentions when you speak of fashion, you wouldn’t usually find “Prada - Gucci” promoting the “safety” role of a $5,000 bag. You most likely will hear/read how fabulous you will look when going out on the town. That is what fashion is truly about isn’t it?
Honestly, I never imagined that such an adorable and "Schnazzy" idea would take off so fast, but it did. I compare this to my feather bags. They are not for everyone and while some look at it as a “hairpiece” others will literally stop me to ask where I bought it. Bling is not sold to all retail outlets at this point in time mainly based on the "couture" focus. The clientele who may tend to purchase one of kind items usually know of the specific shops-boutiques that offer this. The photo below doesn’t give it the attention and appreciation it deserves.
Working along with Kroll (President of Undercover Solutions aka US) on its newest member of the Portapocket brand “Bling", has already shown to be the top seller of the brand today. The current press announcement describes the need for this type of product along with using Sam's expertise as a noted designer who has been the face of many known brands today. We felt the concept is exactly what we needed to grab attention while addressing the need of those who are price conscience and style savvy.
When you speak about fabulous ideas & having the less is more concept, this “Baglet” (Yes, I admit, I made that name up) allows you to soiree hop without having to empty your purse for money, lipstick, female "crap" (tampons that fly out with my DL isn’t the most favorable way to show what’s going on with me personally, but it happens), ID's and etc. This "Decked” out “mini” is grabbing the east coast “Fashionista” with the need to keep all items safe, in-style and affordable. Kroll the mastermind behind the Portapocket original brand has a VERY strong following with many retail chains. Goldberg's following today is at minimum 8-10 million of viewers in 150+ countries. This will change when her own show is aired in 2012. This along with another spokesperson position which is a great fit with her event experience in the professional beauty industry.
While we appreciate the calls and desire to work with this extension of the PP brand, those who have inquired are BEYOND excited to start working with the entire designer line. For those who have expressed interest in carrying “Bling”, we are working with those who fit in the realm of retail which have been proven to work for makeup artists, couture bridal salons, stylists on the go, Bridal (touch-up for the bride), couture travel boutiques that keep the desire/need for fashion while keeping your credit cards- cash safe especially when visiting another country.
For those who get my “style”, you are so right with the animal and faux fur I am working on. Zebra, Leopard, Cheetah and more…Just wait!
“I’m a tad biased”, Goldberg admits. This by far is the best looking accessory offering solutions for so many needs. Not only is this a fun idea to work on, but it allows me to offer something to my clients that they can use…even after the big day. Be on the lookout for the “Winter White” version and….
